SIMPLIFYING COMPLEX SCENES IN WATERCOLOUR

Let Malcolm share his knowledge and experience with you during these five exciting and fun packed days.  Relax, and let him show you lots of interesting ways to enjoy yourselves with watercolour.  He will strip away the mystery and “secrets” in favor of a no-fuss, logical approach to achieving vibrant paintings full of light, colour and movement.

Malcolm has no secrets – he will share with you everything he knows, from washes, glazes, simplification and tonal balance to the value of painting with a limited palette. Subject matter will be wide-ranging and varied – city streetscapes, rural landscapes, skies, clouds, boats, water reflections and figures in the landscape, etc.

He will also spend a session doing pen and wash sketching – an exciting preamble to watercolour painting as well as a stimulating technique in its’ own right.

Malcolm will demonstrate continuously and set tasks for participants. Critique, guidance and appraisal will be ongoing during the workshop.
